God’s Equation for Expanding The Edge Church

I.       Add people

Those who believed what Peter said were baptized and added to the church–about three thousand in all.                                                                        Acts 2:41 (NLT)

And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.                             Acts 2:47 (NIV)

II.      Multiply worship opportunities

Nevertheless, more and more men and women believed in the Lord and were added to their number.                  Acts 5:14 (NIV))

As they were ministering to the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for Me Barnabas and Saul for the work that I have called them to.” 3 Then, after they had fasted, prayed, and laid hands on them, they sent them off.
Acts 13:2-3 (HCSB)

III.    Divide into ministries

We apostles should spend our time preaching and teaching the word of God, not administering a food program,” they said. 3 “Now look around among yourselves, brothers, and select seven men who are well respected and are full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom. We will put them in charge of this business. 4 Then we can spend our time in prayer and preaching and teaching the word…” 7 God’s message was preached in ever-widening circles. The number of believers greatly increased in Jerusalem, and many of the Jewish priests were converted, too.                                                                                        Acts 6:1-7 (NLT)

IV.    Subtract limitations

But remember this–if you give little, you will get little. A farmer who plants just a few seeds will get only a small crop, but if he plants much, he will reap much.                                                          2 Corinthians 9:6 (TLB))

Now without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who diligently search for him.                                                 Hebrews 11:6 (ISv)
