Be Strong & Courageous: The Real Truth About Courage – Joshua 1

About This Message

Joshua 1:1-3, 5-11, Deuteronomy 34:9, Deuteronomy 31:6

Many times a person’s worst enemy is not other people or circumstances…it’s the fear that lies within us.  Fear prevents many people from starting a new business, trying anything new, from getting married, taking a new job, starting a new ministry.  There are people in business, or people in the ministry, or people in relationships who, at the first sign of trouble, allowed themselves to give into fear and run from the situation.  We need courage to live a godly life, invite people to church, for the future, courage to succeed in your job, courage to face obsessions, to guide our children values and compulsive behaviors.

I. Neutralize Your Negative Thoughts

II. Clarify Your Purpose

III. Energize Your Faith by Past Experiences

IV. Harmonize Your Life with God’s Commands

Be Diligent – “Be careful to obey all the law…” Hands

Be Unwavering – “…do not turn from it to the right or to the left…” Legs

Be Mindful – “…Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth.” Tongue

Be Focused – “…meditate on it day and night…” Mind

Be Thorough – “…you may be careful to do everything written in it…” Whole Body

V. Utilize Your Opportunity (To Seize The Moment)
