50 Shades of Grace: Be Gracious-Romans 14:1-13

About This Message

How Should I Be Gracious?

1) Accept People

Accept the one whose faith is weak, without quarreling over disputable matters.

Romans 14:1 (NIV)

2) Don’t Try To Change People

Again, one man thinks some days of more importance than others. Another man considers them all alike. Let everyone be definite in his own convictions. Romans 14:5 (PT)

3) Don’t Judge

Who are you to pass judgment on the servant of another? It is before his own master that he stands or falls. And he will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make him stand.

Romans 14:4 (ESV)

Why do you judge your brother or sister? Or why do you treat them with contempt? For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat. It is written: “As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God.’” So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God. Romans 14:10-12 (NIV)

4) Don’t Be a Stumbling Block

Therefore let us not pass judgment on one another any longer, but rather decide never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of a brother. Romans 14:13 (ESV)

You, then, why do you judge your brother or sister? Or why do you treat them with contempt? For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat. It is written: “As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God.’” So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God. Romans 14:10-12 (NIV)
